Best Marketing Campaign by a Distributor   Print

The deadline to submit entries for the 2010 marketing awards was June 1, and GSCA is no longer accepting submissions.

Best Marketing Campaign by a Distributor Award Criteria:
The Best Marketing Campaign by a Distributor Award is given for the best marketing package designed and produced by the film distributor to accompany the launch of a giant screen film released between May 1, 2009, and April 30, 2010. Distributor must be a member of GSCA to submit an entry.

Entries must be associated with a giant screen film per the following eligibility criteria: "To be eligible, films must have been:
a) produced in their original form specifically for giant screen theaters; and
b) premiered in giant screen theaters before being released identically or in some variation for other types of presentation formats."

Criteria below set by the awards subcommittee will guide the judging:
  1. Summary of the marketing goals/objectives, strategies/tactics, and results.

  2. Creativity, usefulness, and quality of materials (available to theaters) with samples of advertising, press kits, collateral and printed materials, educational materials, manager’s kit, or any other materials.

  3. Value-added marketing support for extra efforts in providing local, regional, or international support will get bonus points.
Each GSCA member distributor can enter as many times as they would like.

Entries must be received by June 1.

Campaigns conducted in all languages are eligible; however, the award entry must be submitted in English.

All entries must be submitted electronically via the online form, which includes 3 primary sections:
  • Section 1: Describe the campaign goals and objectives (description limited to 3000 characters--approximately 500 words).

  • Section 2: Describe the campaign strategy and tactics (description limited to 3000 characters--approximately 500 words).

  • Section 3: Describe results and metrics used to determine the campaign’s success (description limited to 3000 characters--approximately 500 words).
The online form also includes a field to upload a PDF of images and descriptions of supporting materials that represent the campaign. The PDF is limited to 10 MB. If your file is larger than 10 MB or is more than one document, please contact Kelly Germain at kellygermain@giantscreencinema.com. Items to consider including:
  • Press kit material
  • Promotions
  • Advertising material
  • Collateral material

GSCA recommends that you complete your answers offline using the worksheet provided below and then copying and pasting your answers into the form. Please note that formatting does not translate once the form is submitted, so please do not use bold, italics, bullet points, or special character formatting.

Entries will be judged by your marketing colleagues in the giant screen cinema business and other marketing professionals.

Notice: Entries will remain in the GSCA library and will be shared with other GSCA members unless entrant specifies otherwise.
